What are check-in and check-out times?

• Check-in is 4 p.m.
• Check-out is 11 a.m.

Do you have a firepit? Is firewood provided? Where can I buy firewood?

Yes, we have a firepit and some log seating. You’re welcome to bring more comfortable lawn chairs, if you’d like!

We do not provide firewood; however, firewood can be purchased at various locations around Hocking Hills. Check out the Camping Supplies section on the Hocking Hills Tourism Association website for firewood sellers.

What kind of grill do you have?

We have a propane grill. Extra propane is available in the cabin garage.

What kind of fish are in the pond?

Our pond is stocked with bluegill, bass, and catfish. The pond is stocked annually.

Do you provide bait or fishing poles?

We do not provide bait or fishing poles. Both can be purchased from local camping supply stores and Walmart in Logan. Sunoco on 328 (toward Logan) also sells bait.

How does the fireplace work?

The fireplace is electric, and the controls are on the unit. It’s very easy to operate.

How far is the cabin from Old Man’s Cave and other Hocking Hills attractions?

Most Hocking Hills attractions can be reached within a 15- to 25-minute drive from the cabin.

Check out the Hocking Hills Tourism Association website for precise locations, and use Google Maps to estimate drive times.

How far is the cabin from Ohio University?

We’re located roughly 30 minutes from OU.

How old do you need to be to rent Logan’s Retreat?

You must be 18 years of age or older to rent the cabin. Keep in mind that we do not permit underage drinking or any other illegal activities. If law enforcement is called to the cabin for such illegal activities, you will be required to leave immediately and no refund will be granted.

Do you have kitchen supplies?

We offer a fully-stocked kitchen, which includes:

• Refrigerator
• Stove and oven
• Microwave
• Dishwasher
• Silverware and cutlery
• Plates and bowls
• Glassware
• Various cooking utensils, pots, and pans
• Corkscrew
• And more

How do I access the cabin?

Prior to your stay, a code will be emailed to you. Enter the code on the front door to access the cabin and on the rec barn door to access the rec barn.

Do I have to make payment in full as our initial payment?

Yes, we require your payment to be made in-full. Logan’s Retreat is in high-demand, and we ask our guests to commit to their stays to avoid turning away other guests who would otherwise book the cabin.

Do you allow pets? Will you make an exception for my pet?

As a rule, we do not allow pets at the cabin. However, on rare occasion we might consider allowing a single small pet for an additional cleaning fee. That said, any additional cleaning required or damages caused by pets will be deducted from your deposit.

We evaluate this on a case-by-case basis. If you absolutely must have your pet, and it is small and well-behaved, please contact us; however, in most cases we decline to allow pets.

That said, if you have a service animal we abide by all relevant laws.

Can I use your boat?

As of now, we do not allow the boat to be used on the pond. However, we’re looking into allowing it in the future.

Is the hot tub functional in the winter?

Yes! The hot tub is functional in the winter, and it’s under the roof on the back deck (which is not enclosed), so you can enjoy the hot tub even if it’s raining or snowing.

Do you offer any additional services for special occasions and celebrations, such as honeymoons and wedding anniversaries?

We work to accommodate our guests as much as possible and would love to help you with special surprises or requests, whenever possible and available. If you’d like a bottle of wine from Hocking Hills Winery waiting for you, or something else, please let us know. Additional fees may apply.
